"What, do you work there or something?!"
Ran into an SG at school. For some reason, two girls in my history class were having an argument about which season pass level for Kings Island was higher- Gold or Platinum. For one, duh. We have three season passes: blue (admission only), gold (admission, free parking, and some perks), and platinum (admission to all CF parks, free parking, and perks at all CF parks). Obviously, platinum is higher. So, one of them (the one who knew platinum was higher) asks me which is higher. Obviously, I say that platinum is. The other one says, "Well, how would you know that? Do you work there or something?!" I pull my associate ID out of my pocket and say "Yep. I win." She was too stunned to say anything. :D:

King's Island...is that the same park from the old Brady Bunch episode?
"Excuse me, are those ducks real?"
"Yes, sir, but the water is fake."

Yes. Ironically, since the episode was intended to be a promotion for the park, it was never actually mentioned by name, just "the new park in Cincinnati".

I seem to recall the roller coaster had the name of the park painted on the front car.KingsIslander wrote:Yes. Ironically, since the episode was intended to be a promotion for the park, it was never actually mentioned by name, just "the new park in Cincinnati".

I may have mentioned this before, but my BiL had the same thing happen to him. A few years ago he and his sons were taking a hike out near Saguaro Nat Monument when he saw some little old lady trying to pick-up saguaro ribs,(stricktly forbidden under Federal law.)
He politely told her she couldn't do that. She just huffed, got in her car and left. 10 mins later they also left and 2 miles down the road here's the same little old lay at the side of the road doing it again. He told her "Maam,it's against the law to collect or disturb the saguaro ribs". She shot back,"What are you some park ranger or something?" As luck would have it he had his badge with him and told her very cooly,"Yes I am",and flashed his badge. She freaks, jumps in her car and hauls ass outta there. He didn't tell her the badge was issued in Florida, not Ariz.

Badges? I don't got to show you no stinkin' badges!
Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

I was doing my neighbor hood watch program with Platt security and local police agencies. My Platt crew gave me a badge for finishing the program with them. I keep the badge at home. The first and last time I used the badge was when a stupid prowler was trying to pry open a lock window. I took a flash light and knocked on the window showing the badge and the prowler never returned.

Great story darph. Very funny! No you haven't mentioned this before. I'd remember. ;) Love Saguaro National. Could be there all day with a camera & notebook. Reminds me of "Horse With No Name."darph nader wrote:I may have mentioned this before, but my BiL had the same thing happen to him.
