I'm from Michigan and there is so much chlorine in our tap water that I cannot drink it. It's like chlorox straight from the tap.

I don't mind the taste so much as what it does to my body. We have to drink bottled. It may still be tap water but at least it's filtered a lot more than the local tap water (and believe me, the filters you put on the tap do not manager the problem. :/ With all the crud that BP is dumping into the Great Lakes it's a wonder we all aren't growing third arms around here. . . :/

Back in Portland it was very nice. It was all rain water, completely unfiltered. One part per million chlorine to kill anything in the water, one part ammonia to get rid of the chlorine taste. There was no actual need for bottled water there.

There are *some* aspects of Portland that I miss...

They take on a WHOLE new meaning in PDX. I won't get started on that.

I grew up with NJ tap water... natural flouride to make teeth nice and healthy, and it tasted good unfiltered. Moved here and started drinking propel and sweet tea  Thankfully we have water coolers at WDW :)

My cats won't drink from the toilet anymore.
maybe I should throw in some goldy fishes for taste? :D:
with my luck I would forget they were in there and kill them by accident while taking a 4 lb carp...
