However, if it is locked to anything stationary Security can be called and they will cut the lock.
Which is exactly what we did two years ago when we took the grand kids to WDW. Nothing prevented CM's from repositioning the strollers but one couldn't "Borrow" the strollers themselves.

I used to love, when I was at LotLK, times when the outside queue was empty (or even sometimes when it wasn't), and people would "lock" their strollers to the stanchions. They tended to do that especially if it was raining or threatening to rain, as that area was under cover.

We'd just lift up the stanchion out of the ground, un-loop the lock and move the stroller back outside where it belonged. The looks on the guests' faces were priceless! "Hey! But we locked it right there!" :D:

Disney magic strikes again.

You just gotta love it when the guests think that those stanchions are stationary and can not move, LOL!! :D

Please do not lock the stroller to itself or encourage others to do so.

If the stroller can "easily be moved by a CM" then it can easily be "borrowed". The ones that are locked to themselves are now "of interest" since they must be 'team lifted' to be moved safely by CMs. This is a problem.

As I understand it, security has been called too many times for CM injury for just these 'self locked' strollers.

If you are that worried that you will lose your stroller, then rent one or buy a cheap umbrella type.

Oh and while we are at it, let's make the kids who don't normally need a stroller WALK! I cannot tell you how many times I see able bodied non toddler kids stuffed into a stroller. Most times the parents say it is easier for the kids to 'keep up' if in a stroller. If they can't 'keep up', maybe it is time for you to go to your room and relax?

On all of our trips, we've never had a stroller go missing (that wasn't just moved and found). Even in a downpour when we have the covers on them, they were left alone. We buy the Maclaren strollers, and they come with rain covers. Very cool, kids stay dry, and we use ponchos. The next trip I've told Abby that she will probably be 5 and she can walk. It'll force us to take more breaks, which can't be a bad thing...

Hey, MAPO!!! I'm going to answer this question with a picture. This is from our first family trip in April 2006 (hence, why the two look so little). My daughter was 6 and my son was just about to turn 5. Yes, they are old enough to walk, but especially in EPCOT, the walking is tough enough for me as an adult where I have to stop and rest, my hubby and I would just rather push them around. Besides....as you can see, they fell asleep! LOL We did rent a stroller in October 2007 as well, but we hardly used it....is was more for carting our stuff around. Totally understand your point about going back to the room (in our case, the house in Davenport), but the kids took a quick nap in the stroller, were able to recharge, and hubby and I got to explore stores and stuff or ate while they slept.
